Meet Dr. Jamy Morris

Board-Certified Psychiatrist specializing in integrative care and women's mental health

Dr. Jamy' Approach to Care

Dr. Jamy M. is a Board-Certified Psychiatrist known for her warm, thoughtful, and deeply attentive approach to patient care. She believes that effective psychiatric treatment begins with feeling heard, understood, and respected. Every patient deserves a clinician who takes the time to truly know them.

Patients often describe Dr. Jamy as easy to talk to, patient, and calming. She takes the time to truly listen, ask careful questions, and understand the full context of a person's life-their work, relationships, health history, cultural background, and personal values-not just a list of symptoms. Appointments are unhurried and collaborative, with a strong emphasis on building trust and making decisions together.

Many patients come to Dr. Jamy feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or frustrated by past experiences. Her goal is to help patients feel grounded, informed, and supported as they move forward.

She earned her medical degree from Universidad Ricardo Palma in Lima, Peru, where she developed a deep appreciation for diverse populations and culturally informed psychiatry. She completed her psychiatry residency at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Elmhurst Hospital in New York City-one of the nation's top psychiatric training programs, known for serving an exceptionally diverse patient population and emphasizing comprehensive, evidence-based care.

After residency, She obtained board certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, affirming her mastery of psychiatric diagnosis, medication management, and clinical practice standards. She founded MindMED Behavioral Health in Southlake in 2024 to create the kind of practice she wished more patients had access to: one that prioritizes the therapeutic relationship, rigorous clinical judgment, and individualized, unhurried care.

Her clinical interests span anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, OCD, and women's mental health, with particular expertise in perinatal and perimenopausal psychiatry. She works with adults seeking comprehensive psychiatric care, whether that involves medication management alone or an integrated approach that includes collaboration with therapists when appropriate.

Dr. Jamy practices evidence-based psychiatry with a thoughtful, whole-person lens. When clinically indicated, she integrates attention to sleep, nutrition, lifestyle, and mind-body factors alongside medication management, always tailoring treatment to the individual rather than a formula.

Above all, Dr. Jamy Morris values the patient-provider relationship and strives to create a space where patients feel safe, supported, and empowered throughout their care.

Our Philosophy

MindMED is built on the belief that psychiatric care should be unhurried, evidence-based, and deeply personal. We don't believe in cookie-cutter treatment plans or brief, transactional appointments. Instead, we invest time in understanding each patient as a whole person.

Dr. Jamy sees every patient herself-there are no nurse practitioner handoffs or delegation of care. This continuity and personal investment are core to how we practice.

  • Evidence-based medication management as the foundation
  • Whole-person treatment: sleep, nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle factors
  • Collaboration with therapists, primary care physicians, and other providers
  • 60–90 minute initial evaluations–time to truly listen and understand
  • Culturally sensitive and respectful care for all backgrounds
  • Integrated approach that considers medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle
